Chuck Close
Little did I know that renowned painter Chuck Close also work in the medium of etching and intaglio. His subject matter is the same of his paintings, and he renders them with the same attention to specific detail. They are different however in terms of mark making. Some of the portraits have a scribbled affect to them.

Exhibition Visit II
The next exhibition I saw was at the gallery The Towson Arts Collective. This particular exhibition featured works of a political nature, some commenting on the current political climate. Most of the work was artworks of specific notable leaders such as Hillary Clinton, Donald Rumsfeld and Donald Trump to name a few. Some were humorous, and had a cartoon-ish aesthetic quality to them.
Exhibition Visit I
I went to visit Towson University's own Asian Arts Gallery to look at their current display of Chinese Folk Pottery. I witnessed ceramic objects from teapots and vases to toy whistles. I was also informed that the ceramics are a declining art due to the mass production of plastic-ware. I also learned that Chinese immigrants brought their tradition of folk pottery to the United States in the 1850's.

Plans for Large Scale, Mezzotint, and Color Prints
For all three of the next assignments, I think I would like to work from life.
For my large scale, I would first have to tackle the problem of utilizing the entire space. Therefore, I am choosing two brown shoes. I enjoy their simplicity.
For my Mezzotint, since I have a small plate for it, it would be a still life on a smaller scale, such as a paintbrush or a comb.
As for color prints, I have chosen to print two unrelated objects that are a mug and a cap, but they inherently have a vibrant color. The blue cap with the yellow mug give a crisp feeling.
